LORBIRD Modern American Kitchen & Bar
Where fowl is fabulous — a personal culinary story with global ambition in Fulton
The Place
LORBIRD Modern American Kitchen & Bar is the latest culinary venture from Laurie and Will O’Brien, the team behind Port City Café and Red Sun Fire Roasting Company in Oswego. The restaurant name tells a personal story — “LorBird” is a nickname Laurie’s father gave her, making this place a culinary autobiography as much as a restaurant.
Located at 371 South 2nd Street in Fulton, the dining room strikes the perfect balance between casual and classy. Bird-themed decor runs throughout: patterned upholstery, bird art on the walls, a stunning backlit white bar, and a golden bird sculpture that adds a touch of whimsy. Wooden tables, leather chairs, and all-gold utensils create an elevated experience where you can feel comfortable in jeans while eating sophisticated cuisine.
The Food
The menu showcases creative American comfort food with global influences — Creole, Vietnamese, and Asian flavors all show up. As their tagline says, this is a place “where fowl is fabulous,” featuring standout chicken dishes alongside expertly prepared steaks, seasonal creations, sustainable seafood, and innovative pasta dishes.
Menu highlights include the famous potato croquettes, the “Flew the Coop” burger, tender chicken marsala made with leg and thigh on the bone, garlic and Guinness mussels, and popular smash burgers. Portions are generous, and the craft cocktail menu complements the food well. The dessert menu is selective — but what they offer is worth saving room for.
