The Place

Jake’s Grub n Grog sits on East River Road in Brewerton, twenty minutes north of Syracuse. It’s easy to find — just off I-81 at exit 31 — and it has the feel of a real neighborhood pub with a lakeside vibe. The banquet room handles parties up to 200 guests, making it a go-to for events as well as everyday dining.

The Food

The kitchen’s headliner is the fresh fried haddock: one enormous filet, served with a side, the kind of portion that makes you feel like you got a deal. The build-your-own mac & cheese is the other crowd favorite, where you can pile on add-ons like scallops, steak, or bacon. The shrimp po’ boy comes dressed with sriracha mayo, and the weekly bourbon burger is worth timing your visit around. Menus and weekly specials live at grubandgrog.com/jakes.
