Georgio's Village Cafe
Twenty-plus years of red-sauce Italian comfort in New Hartford's Village Shops
The Place
Nestled in New Hartford’s Village Shops, Georgio’s Village Cafe has been a Mohawk Valley favorite for over 20 years. It’s a warm, family-friendly room that serves the kind of red-sauce Italian food people drive across the region to eat. The portions are generous — leftovers are the norm, not the exception — and the prices stay fair without ever feeling like it’s cutting corners.
It’s the kind of place where the staff learns your name after a couple of visits.
The Food
The classics are the draw. Perfectly fried calamari with zesty marinara starts the table off right. The chicken parmigiana comes blanketed in melted mozzarella and house-made sauce. The linguini with clam sauce — white or red — is loaded with fresh clams.
The brick-oven pizzas have earned their own following. The Village Special, loaded with sausage, peppers, onions, and mushrooms, comes out of the oven with a crisp crust and a piled topping that makes it hard to stop at one slice. The oven gives the crust a char and texture that sets these apart from the standard delivery pizza.
Worth Knowing
Georgio’s goes out of its way to accommodate gluten-free diners with dedicated pasta and pizza options — a genuine accommodation, not an afterthought. Service is described consistently as lightning-fast and genuinely friendly. Whether you’re feeding a family, grabbing takeout, or sitting in for a relaxed dinner, Georgio’s delivers on the nostalgia without the stuffy atmosphere or the inflated prices.
