The Place

Coleman’s Corner has been a Watertown fixture since 1981, bringing authentic Irish pub fare and contemporary American cuisine to the North Country. Step inside and you’ll find a cozy pub atmosphere perfect for warming up on cold evenings. The building has a rich history — the original structure was brought over from the Alex T. Duffy fairgrounds and transformed into the beloved dining spot it is today. It’s been family-owned throughout.

The Food

The menu covers hearty comfort food done right. The garlic and Guinness mussels are the standout opener — get them. From there the kitchen runs crowd favorites: crispy fish and chips, hearty shepherd’s pie, traditional bangers and mash, gourmet sandwiches and burgers, and the Gaelic chicken for when you want something a little different. Portions are built for the North Country appetite.

The drinks side is equally serious, with an impressive selection of craft beers on tap including New York State brews, alongside creative cocktails and a full bar. The kind of place where you come for dinner and end up staying for the next round.

Worth Knowing

Coleman’s Corner is open Tuesday through Saturday — 11am to 10pm most nights, with Friday and Saturday running until 11pm. It’s on Lawrence Street in Watertown, and it’s the kind of place you bring out-of-towners to show them what the North Country does when it’s doing it right.
