Happy Friday, 315!
This is edition 52. That means next week, 315NY turns one year old. We've got some exciting updates in the works to share with you when we get there, so stay tuned. But first, let's talk about what's happening this week.
Easter weekend is here, and the egg hunts are everywhere. The Utica Zoo's Eggstravaganza on Saturday brings animal meet-and-greets, games, vendors, and free photos with the Easter Bunny. Pulaski's South Park has a 40-foot bounce house obstacle course and egg hunt. And Copper City Brewing in Rome is doing an Adult Easter Egg Hunt, with eggs filled with beer tokens, coupons, and merch hidden around the taproom. On Sunday, Easter brunch options run from Collegian Syracuse and Colloca Estate Winery to Lunkenheimer Brewing, Massena Elks Lodge, Riveredge Resort in Alexandria Bay, and Bad Apple Social.
The live music slate is stacked with tribute bands. A Foreigner's Journey to Boston covers three legends in one show at Middle Ages on Friday. Gold Dust Gypsies play Fleetwood Mac at Average Joe's in Baldwinsville, and Petty Thieves bring a full night of Tom Petty to Shep's Brewing. Saturday keeps it going with Infinity's 70s and 80s rock at Average Joe's and Mike Powell & The Echosound at Middle Ages. Beyond the music, 1888 Biergarten in Utica runs a four-day Prohibition Party, SKY Armory hosts a Spring Night Market, and WWE NXT Live hits the Adirondack Bank Center on Thursday.
Spring is showing up in the creative calendar too. Fulton Public Library has a Paint and Plant Workshop, The Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles runs a Pressed Flower Art Workshop, and Players of Utica opens Bus Stop, running through April 12. The Raquette River Marathon in Potsdam offers a full marathon, half, 10K, and 5K on Saturday. And two-time Olympian Jonny Gustafson does a meet-and-greet at Nicandri Nature Center in Massena on Monday. This week's Foodie Corner heads to Hilton Avenue in Utica for Two Brothers Cafe & Pizzeria, where hand-tossed New York-style pizza meets authentic Bosnian comfort food. More on that below.

Two Brothers Cafe & Pizzeria - Utica

Two Brothers Cafe & Pizzeria sits on the corner of Hilton and Arthur in Utica, across from Proctor High School and around the corner from MVCC. It took over the former Campus Inn Pizza space with new owners, a fresh look, and a menu that does something you don't see every day: it puts hand-tossed New York-style pizza and authentic Bosnian comfort food under the same roof. And somehow, both are excellent.
The pizza side delivers exactly what you want. Thin-crust, hand-tossed, available by the slice for $2 or as full pies in 14" and 18" sizes. The chicken bacon ranch pizza is a regular favorite on DoorDash, where the restaurant holds a 4.7 rating with over 200 reviews. Wings, hot subs, pasta (including chicken riggies), calzones, and fried dough round out the classic pizzeria menu. The Nutella fried dough is the number one most-liked item on delivery apps.
But the real surprise is the Balkan side of the menu. The burek, a meat-filled phyllo pie with perfectly seasoned ground meat wrapped in stretchy, chewy dough, is the second most-ordered item on delivery and gets five-star reviews from anyone who tries it. The cevapi comes served on homemade lepinja bread with sour cream, diced onion, and a red pepper sauce that reviewers can't stop talking about. One food writer who discovered Two Brothers at the NYS State Fair tracked down the restaurant afterward just to eat there again. The mixed grill platter is another popular order, and the cheese burek is a hit for anyone who loves savory pastry done right.
The restaurant is clean, the staff is consistently praised as friendly and attentive, and the owners make the rounds to check in on guests. Prices are low: most items fall under $20, and the pizza-and-wing combo specials are hard to beat. They do dine-in, takeout, pickup, and delivery through DoorDash and Slice. Whether you're a pizza person or a burek person, Two Brothers gives you a reason to be both.
