Happy Friday, 315!

The days are getting longer, the calendars are getting fuller, and this week's lineup might be one of the most eclectic we've put together. The biggest ticket is Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical at the Landmark Theatre on Monday night, the award-winning spectacle built on the music of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf. Before that, The Syracuse Orchestra performs Candlelight Pops at St. Paul's on Saturday, a sing-along, dance-along evening of six decades of pop and rock hits by candlelight. And over in Utica, the Stanley Theatre hosts the Mohawk Valley Performing Arts Company's production of Sleeping Beauty Ballet on Saturday afternoon, complete with Tchaikovsky's sweeping score and glittering costumes.

Friday kicks off with a full slate. The CNY Women's Summit brings together women professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs for a full day of workshops, networking, and high-impact conversations. In Cazenovia, Meier's Creek Brewing hosts a Caz Pride Silent Disco: Blacklight Edition with UV-powered music and community celebration. The Home and Garden Show runs all weekend at the NYS Fairgrounds. And in Tully, the Ende Brothers play ONCO Fermentations with pop rock and soulful vocals. Over in Oswego County, Curtis Manor hosts a Murder Mystery Dinner called Dead Silent, and The Foundry in Oswego throws a Countdown to Harborfest Party with live music, costumes, trivia, and giveaways.

The theater and film picks this week are strong. Steel Hearts: The John Henry Musical brings an original Indie-Gospel score to the Oncenter on Saturday. On Sunday, the Empire State Theatre screens the 1925 silent epic Ben Hur with Brett Miller performing live on the Mighty Syracuse Wurlitzer. In Clinton, Kirkland Art Center stages a two-actor adaptation of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe on Saturday. And in Geneva, Smith Center for the Arts screens Song Sung Blue, a tribute film starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, on Friday and Saturday nights.

The North Country is packed with weekend fun. The 67th Annual Rotary Pancake Day in Massena serves up fresh buttermilk pancakes with real NY maple syrup on Saturday morning. That same night, Fahrenheit Bar and Grill in Massena throws a Back to the 90s Party. Watertown's The Strand hosts a Variety Night showcasing bands spanning alternative rock, indie, emo, hardcore, and rap. In Pulaski, Quaint runs a Creatively Quaint Weekend of craft workshops. And over at Fort Drum, the Only Fools Run 5K on April 1 promises no pranks, just a fun run. Potsdam has an Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt at Hounds Haven on Sunday.

The Finger Lakes wraps the week with some heavy hitters. Marty Stuart and Molly Tuttle play Smith Opera House in Geneva on Thursday for a night of cosmic twang and guitars on fire. Brewery Ardennes in Geneva is hosting a Hollerhorn Distilling Dinner Pairing on Saturday to celebrate the first days of spring. In Auburn, Dominic Gambaiani shares his "Road to Auburn" at Auburn Public Theater on Friday, and the Boozy Bingo Easter Party takes over Waterloo Sportsman Club. And if you're looking for something chill midweek, Analog Cabin at Pink Rock Culture Co-op in Syracuse on Tuesday is a completely unplugged evening of acoustic jams, board games, craft tables, and conversation. No devices allowed. This week's Foodie Corner heads to Geneva for The Elephant Thai. More on that below.

The Elephant Thai - Geneva

If you're exploring the Finger Lakes and craving something beyond wine country fare, The Elephant Thai in Geneva is a spot that consistently delivers. Open since 2018, this casual Thai restaurant on Seneca Street has built a loyal following with authentic dishes, generous portions, and the kind of warm service that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit.

The menu covers a wide range of Thai classics done right. The pad thai is a crowd favorite, available with your choice of protein and consistently praised by reviewers, including those with gluten-free needs (the menu is clearly marked for GF, vegetarian, and vegan options). The drunken noodles are rich and satisfying, and the Panang curry with shrimp is a standout for anyone who likes a little heat with their coconut milk. For something more adventurous, the pineapple curry duck features a boneless roasted crispy duck topped with three-flavored sauce, bell peppers, onions, and scallions. The lobster pad thai and duck over rice are house specialties. Starters like the crab rangoon, chicken satay with peanut sauce, and crispy calamari with sweet chili sauce are solid openers. And don't skip dessert: the mango sticky rice and the fried ice cream flambe both get high marks.

The soups are worth a detour on their own. The Tom Kha comes in a hot pot with coconut cream, lemongrass, galangal, and lime juice. The Tom Yum brings the heat with lemongrass, chili, and mushrooms. And the seafood hot pot combines shrimp, mussels, and squid in a country-style spicy broth with basil. Drinks include Thai iced tea, ginger tea, and bubble tea.

The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeout, and delivery all available. Prices run around $20-30 per person for a full meal. The space is comfortable and casually decorated. Google reviews give it a 4.5 out of 5, and Restaurant Guru has it at 4.4 with 565 reviews and nearly 200 photos. It's the kind of place where you go once on a Finger Lakes trip and immediately plan your next visit around it.
