Happy Friday, 315! Super Bowl LX is this Sunday, and whether you're pulling for the Patriots or the Seahawks, there's no shortage of places across the region to catch the big game. From watch parties in Fulton and Fort Drum to chicken BBQs in Hannibal, your neighbors have you covered with food, drinks, and plenty of big-screen action. Kickoff is at 6:30pm on NBC, with Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show.
But football isn't the only thing lighting up the 315 this week. Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and the region is going all-in on love. Speed dating at the Utica Zoo, a candlelit Valentine's skate night on Clinton Square, chocolate and wine pairings in Sterling, and vendor fairs packed with gifts from local makers. If you've still got shopping to do, this week's lineup of Valentine's markets will sort you out.
The arts scene is strong this week too. Austin Jimmy Murphy brings blues and jazz to ONCO Fermentations in Syracuse on Friday night, while New York State Baroque performs the music of John Dowland at Pebble Hill Presbyterian. Auburn Public Theater has a double feature weekend with an Allman Brothers tribute on Friday and a drag celebration of love on Saturday. And if you're looking for something totally different, the Adirondack Railroad's Cabin Fever Limited offers a 3-hour winter train ride from Utica to Remsen.
The creative crowd has plenty to choose from too. Paint and sip events, succulent workshops, tulip bouquet bars, and seaglass crafting sessions are scattered across the region from the Finger Lakes to the North Country. Grab a friend (or treat yourself) and make something beautiful this week.
