Happy Friday, 315!

We hope everyone's having a nice, cozy winter - it's the perfect time to catch up on your reading, start a new TV show, or try out some soup recipes. But even though it's cold, bundling up and getting some fresh air could do us all some good! If you're getting cabin fever, we've got a couple ideas - a snowshoe hike, perhaps? Maybe a botany exploration, or some birdwatching? If that sounds crazy, don't worry - we've got plenty of indoor activities too.

Coming up this week, you can catch tons of awesome live music, from folk legend Livingston Taylor in Syracuse to country star Chayce Beckham at Turning Stone. Classical music fans won't want to miss the Syracuse Orchestra performing Brahms and Debussy, and there's even a punk rock show at Funk 'n Waffles with Reality Check Experiment and Honker. For those who love jazz and psychedelic sounds, Lettuce is bringing their funky improvisational vibes to The Westcott Theater!

Looking for something low-key to get out of the house? Try a book club, board game night, film screening, or a yoga class. Foodies will love the fortified wines and cheese pairing class at The Wedge, and don't miss the Salt City Market's 5th Birthday Celebration featuring a soup flight night with 9 global soups! Also, don't miss your chance to hop aboard the Adirondack Railroad for a three hour journey that includes hot chocolate and s'mores!

Whether you're in the mood for Dancing with the Stars live at Turning Stone, a guided nature walk, or a cozy trivia night, there's something for everyone this week. Thank you so much to our awesome subscribers, and if you're new here, welcome! Be sure to share our events with your friends, and as always, follow our Instagram and Facebook to stay in the know.

Stay warm and safe out there!

Kindred Fare (Geneva)

Looking to enjoy a delicious, locally sourced meal along with a craft cocktail? Come check out this Finger Lakes gem! Kindred Fare in Geneva is a spirited farm-to-table restaurant that's been a beloved destination in the heart of wine country since 2015. Their philosophy is simple: "To share is to love."

Step inside and you'll immediately feel the warmth. The space is designed to be both comfortable and full of character, featuring a central bar, open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work, and flexible dining spaces perfect for everything from intimate dinners to group celebrations. There are even four exclusive counter seats where you can engage directly with the chefs - and they might even send you something special!

At Kindred Fare, everything is made from scratch. They butcher their own meats, bake their own bread (including homemade rosemary focaccia and gluten-free buckwheat raisin crackers), and create recipes that change with the seasons. The menu puts a unique spin on familiar favorites - try their gluten-free panko crusted fried chicken with field greens, golden beets, and creamy parmesan black pepper dressing. Their famous Friendship Fries made with Silver Queen Farm potatoes come with rosemary, garlic, and house-made aioli. Don't miss the wild rice bowl with carrots, broccolini, and carrot ginger purée.

The cheese board features local gems from Lively Run (Finger Lakes Gold goat cheese and Cayuga Blue) and Old Chatham (Camembert), served with housemade piccalilli relish and whole grain mustard. And for Monday night diners, bring your own bottle - there's no corkage charge!

Their cool climate international wine list showcases the best of the Finger Lakes alongside global offerings, and the craft cocktail program is equally impressive. The bar scene is lively and social, perfect for meeting friends or making new ones.

Ranked #4 of 71 restaurants in Geneva on TripAdvisor with 439 reviews and a 4.4/5 rating, Kindred Fare has earned its reputation as a must-visit destination. Open daily for dinner 5pm-9pm. Located at 512 Hamilton Street, Geneva. Reservations highly recommended - call (315) 787-0400 or book online.
